As young girls most of our mothers have told us how important looking beautiful is, and as you grow with age those words of wisdom seem to fade as something that seems more like a healthy suggestion rather than a literal interpretation, but as it seems beauty with age is no easy feat, it becomes pertinent to develop beauty habits in order to maintain looking fabulous and keeping your looks fresh and youthful.

Beauty Is Habit

Beauty is a daily habit. It includes all of the different things you require, to look and feel good about yourself!  Whether you are “going somewhere” or not.
The Basics of Beauty include feeling good about your health, weight, body shape, skin, your clothes, style, your hair, hands and feet. All of these elements contribute to how you feel and look when you get ready for the day.  When you decide to address, improve or simply prioritize in any of theses areas, you are improving your state of mind and productivity.  When one of these areas is not in check it shows.
How great do you feel and look when you eat healthy food, have just had a manicure/pedicure, haircut, facial, exercised or cleaned out your closet!  Choose to do these things on a regular basis. Write it into your schedule. We are all busy. There is time to do beautiful things for yourself.
Change your toenail polish while watching a movie at home, moisturize your feet before going to bed. Give yourself a facial while taking a bath. When you try clothing on that isn’t right, don’t put it back in the closet. Consign it or give to the goodwill.
Other things that help is, Having a skin care routine that works for you. Make sure to cleanse your skin at least once daily. Using a toner can help pick up any leftover residue and give you a fresh squeaky clean feel.  Adding a targeted serum really helps to promote healthy skin. Using a sunscreen always  or a tinted moisturizer with sunscreen.
Create a simple make-up style for yourself. Have a small arsenal of items that are double use and can make you look enhanced without a lot of time. Add a glow to your cheeks with a cream blush that you can use on your lips too. Bronzer are nice for a subtle glow and are great for using as eyeshadow too. Finding the right color concealer can do wonders for brightening your eyes, face and complexion. Under eye cream is mandatory when using a concealer.
Use powder only on areas that are shiny. And make sure to pat or brush on lightly. Reapply as needed. Keep lip balm with you at all times. Add underneath lips even if you’re wearing lipstick or lip gloss. One layer of mascara and a eyelash curler accentuate your eyes and lift them for a larger perkier look.
Base your clothes choices on colors and styles that  you feel comfortable in.  Something may  look incredible on you, but if you’re not comfortable, you’re not comfortable. I don’t believe in suffering for beauty. Wear things that are in proportion to your size. If you’re tall or big use a larger hand bag or earrings. If you’re small or short use  accessories that don’t overwhelm  you. No spots, tears or frays on clothes unless they are part of the design. Polish your  shoes and handbags. Make sure buttons are secure, hems are flat and pressed.
Keep your hair and clothes as maintenance free as possible. Keep things washed, refreshed and ready to go.Keep what you need and works for you! Give away the rest.
